Duragesic is the patch form of fentanyl that is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. The patch was designed so that opium would be streamed into the blood stream for up to 72 hours. This was thought of to give people with chronic pain a simpler, more effective way to get their pain medication inside of them without having to take it every few hours.

Duragesic was approved by the FDA in the year 2004 and was issued a Public Health advisory in the year 2005. Today, duragesic is still considered unsafe and unhealthy because of the unsafe amount of fetanyl that is put into a person’s body at once and the amount of deaths and overdoses that were occurring. In 2004, there was a recall on a whole batch of duragesic patches due to seal breaches that caused the patch to leak. The FDA is still receiving reports of people overdosing or having horrible side effects because of the duragesic patch and as of 2007 they sent out another Public Health advisory warning Americans of the serious health and death risk that come with the use of the duragesic patch.

This patch was created to benefit people with serious pain, but it has turned for the worst and is killing people who use it to for medical reasons. Use of it for actual pain and using it for the opium addiction you have is not recommended by anyone. This patch is deadly and can kill you or leave you with life long side effects if you continue to use it.
